The Metaphysics of Time

First, like everyone, I appreciated the effect of slight drunkeness; then very soon I grew to like what lies beyond violent drunkeness, when one has passed that stage: a magnificent and terrible peace, the true taste of the passage of time.
Debord, Panegyric

Such a gorgeous (and given Debord's history, rather heart-wrenching) passage. Then again, as a fellow lush, I can't help but be drawn in by philosophical speculation on drunkenness.

If you're interested, take a look at Jalal Toufic's book Oversensitivity (I think it's in this text of his). Great writings on drunken temporality.
